Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our website and add any items that you wish to buy to the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Pay Now' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept credit and debit card payments. If you are shopping from overseas, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Delta and Maestro. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to post. Items on back order are not charged until they are posted to you.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order; it does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have to state this to protect us in the case a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. |
Postage and Packing
We charge a standard rate of £3.95 and deliver the majority of parcels by Royal Mail's second class service or by Parcelforce. If you would like a 24 hour delivery, this is subject to an additional charge of £4.50. 24 hour deliveries must be placed by 2pm and can only guarantee receipt on Mondays to Fridays.
International orders are charged at cost, including during sale time.

Delivery Schedule
We will normally send your order to you in 2 working days. At times of high demand, such as at Christmas, we aim to post your parcel within 7 days of the order being placed. |
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will hold it on back order for you. You will always have the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. You will only be charged postage and packing on the first delivery. |
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added where applicable but books and the majority of our clothing and footwear for children are VAT exempt. |
Credit Card Security
When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our payment processing company. They are not held in clear text on any web site and we do not see your card number at any point during the transaction.
Our payment processing company is Protx who securely verify our transactions with UK High Street banks.

Young Explorers does not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.
Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies.

Returns Policy
Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm
Goods must be returned in perfect condition complete with their original packaging and labels, which must also be in perfect condition. You can choose to receive either a full credit or replacement item and if you choose to receive a refund, your card will normally be credited within 48 hours of receipt of the returns.
You are responsible for returning the goods at your own expense. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for items that are lost in the post. You can obtain a Proof of Posting certificate from your Post Office when returning the goods.
You are, of course, entitled to a refund for faulty goods.
Items are not returnable if they are on our sale rail. Normal consumer rights apply. All other full price items can be returned, at your own postal cost. This helps us to keep down our overall costs to you.
