Welcome to Young Explorers

We are the longest-standing dedicated retailer of outdoor clothing and equipment for children and young people aged from 0-16 years, established in 1997. Welcome to our online shop.

Young Explorers is unique in the UK. It has the most comprehensive range of outdoor clothing and equipment for young people.

Our customers' needs range from those looking to keep their toddler warm and dry when playing in the garden through to those trekking to Base Camp at Mount Everest or heading for the beaches of Australia in mid-summer.

NEW to our range are adult sizes, requested by our customers for years, both for teenagers growing out of youth sizes and for parents.

We continually test, research and assess both existing and emerging products on the market for young people and we take this process seriously.

Young Explorers originated as a traditional mail order company. Today, most of our orders come from the internet, although of course we are also happy to accept orders by post, telephone or fax.

NEWS - ADVENTUROUS TRAVELLING FAMILY WANTED FOR TV DOCUMENTARY SERIES
A leading TV production company has approached us for help in finding their ideal family for a documentary they are developing for Channel 4:

TV DOCUMENTARY LOOKING FOR ADVENTUROUS FAMILIES

ARE YOU TAKING TIME OUT WITH YOUR FAMILY TO DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY?

DO YOU HANKER AFTER FOREIGN ADVENTURES AND NEW EXPERIENCES OUTSIDE OF FOUR STAR HOTEL ROOMS?

DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION TO TAKE IN THE BEST OF WHAT THE WORLD HAS TO OFFER AND NOT JUST THE FOUR WALLS OF A CLASSROOM?

The production company behind award-winning shows such as The Choir, Brat Camp and That’ll Teach ‘Em is developing a new series for Channel 4 about the growing number of British families putting day-to-day life on hold to see the world with their children in tow. If you’re planning an adventure with your family, and are interested in having your trip recorded for posterity for Channel 4, they’d love to hear from you.

The programme will take the form of a documentary, with a small crew joining you at key points in the trip, as well keeping your own video diary.

If you would like to apply or find out more, please email your name, a daytime phone number and a brief outline of your proposed trip to ASAP: familygapyear@twentytwenty.tv
Or leave a message on their hotline and they will call you back: 07505 883514
